Welcome Back to School!
Hello, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders! And to any parents or visitors who are stopping by for the first time, welcome to my blog!
This space serves my students as a resource for learning and academic support for the subjects that I teach. You will find Powerpoint lessons, project and assignment guidelines, subject-related links, handouts, and enrichment entries that supplement what goes on in the classroom. I hope you will find this site helpful, and if there are any suggestions you may have to contribute, please email me at mdyogisjs@yahoo.com.

******************************
It’s been a great first week of school, and I’m definitely excited about the school year because there’s always so much to learn and experience with each of my classes. We’ve had a long to-do list this week, so I just want to give you an overview of the items and procedures pertaining to 7th grade Homeroom/Jr. High Religion.
Below are a few slideshows that I used to take the class through our agenda, which include a few activities we did together, and classroom rules and procedures that the students needed to know.
Some Reminders…
TOTEBAG CARE
- Only have books you need for the subjects in each block of rotation. NO EXTRA BOOKS! (i.e., If you have Social Studies in the morning before recess, your Math and Science books should be left in the classroom)
- Please do not throw your totebag on the ground/desk/into closets.
- Please do not drag your totebag on the ground.
- Totebags should be clean and organized at ALL times. No loose papers or trash!
TEXTBOOK CARE
- All textbooks should be covered with PAPER covers only. Please no stretchy covers!
- Write only the NAME OF THE BOOK and YOUR CLASS #. No doodling or extra markings on the cover!
AGENDA BOOKS
- Bring Agenda Book to EVERY academic class!
- Write down assignments as soon as they are given by the teacher. Do not wait until the end of the day. At pack-up, you are only checking your assignments on the Homework Board.
- Parents must sign (full signature) your Agenda Book daily. Teachers will do random checks throughout the week. No signature = HW Missing!
HOMEWORK & MAKE-UP TEST POLICY
- Homework not turned in on time = HW Missing
- 8 HW Missings = 1 Homework Room (3 days for 1 hour after school)
- Late HW (unexcused) = minus 1 letter grade/day
- If absent, you have as many days to make up the assignment as you were absent (i.e., If you are absent for 1 day, you have one day to make-up. Absent 2 days = 2 days to make-up, etc.)
- If you miss a test, you MUST make-up the test within the number of days you were absent (see above). Please schedule an appointment with your teacher as soon as you return.
NEW PROCEDURE! When a students gets a HW Missing…
- Teacher checks HW Missing Log at end of day
- Student signs in on Log with specific assignment
- When parents ask what missing assignments are, we give them a copy of the Log
