Bible Covers

Dear 6th and 7th graders,

Some of you were wondering how to protect the pages of your Bible when you are carrying it around in your backpack/totebag. I would suggest investing in a Bible cover, like the ones you see on this website:

There are all different designs, and they’re really useful for keeping highlighters and sticky tabs for Bible reading, too.

Some bookstores may sell them,  but you can also use a regular book carrier which would work just as well.

PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS:
*10-15 min presentation
*A variety of media and materials may be used (technology must be tested at least 2-3 days ahead)
*Creativity is encouraged to capture the audience’s attention

REL Ch 4 Spell/Vocab Terms

Please copy the following words and definitions (Due THURSDAY, DEC. 4):

1. Palestine - the land where Jesus lived; Israel; the Holy Land
2. Galilee - green, mountainous, and beautiful land; northern region of the Holy Land where Jesus lived
3. Samaria - central region of the land where Jesus lived; avoided by Jewish people when they traveled
4. Judea - hot and dry land; southern region of the Holy Land
5. Bethlehem - town where Jesus was born
6. Nazareth - the home of Mary and Joseph; the town where Jesus grew up
7. Jerusalem - the Holy City where the Temple was located (capital city)
8. Gentiles - those who are not Jews
9. Pharisees - devout, largely middle-class Jews who loved the Torah; the Gospels portray them as stressing external observances too much
10. Scribes - the scholarly teachers among the devout, largely middle-class Jews who loved the Torah
