Creation Collage project – Use bits and pieces of “nature” to create a collage of things God created. Acceptable materials – cotton, seeds, leaves, twigs, feathers, rocks, shells, dried flowers, herbs
Materials cannot be “man-made” (nothing artificial – like beads, ribbons, etc). Please do not use anything dead (that’s just yucky) or fresh food that will mold.
Examples of collages would be:
* a picture of a bird, insect, or animal made using various materials
* a nature scene (forest, waterfall, garden) using various nature-made materials
* a human person made using various nature-made materials
Please make sure that all your materials are SECURELY GLUED to your poster board!

DREAM HALLOWEEN
Dream Halloween is a unique national awareness and fundraising campaign launched annually in October to expand the efforts of the foundation. The goal of Dream Halloween is to provide children living with HIV/AIDS with a safe, secure opportunity to enjoy Halloween through an experience that goes far beyond a child’s imagination. During the campaign, everyone plays a role. Please see the 2009 Helping Hands Volunteer Information Form in Mrs. Dyogi’s classroom for more information on the Adult Gift Bag Stuffing on Thursday, Oct. 22 or the Trick or Treat Stuffing & “Behind the Scenes” Prep on Friday, Oct. 23.
All youth volunteers ages 14-17 must fill out and submit a Teen Volunteer Application. To sign up for these pre-event activities please visit www.caaf.org and submit a volunteer application with the shift you are interested in. You can also call the 24 hour volunteer hotline at 310-535-3861 and leave your name, daytime phone number and shift you are interested in.

ST. JEROME RESPECT LIFE MINISTRY – Gift Shower for Moms and Babies
In recognition of Respect Life Sunday, we are invited to participate in the 13th Annual Parish Gift Shower for moms and babies that are assisted by the Westside Pregnancy Clinic (WPC).
Gift items currently most needed:
- disposable diapers (sizes 2-5)
- baby wipes
- baby shampoo, lotions, diaper rash cream, and toiletries
- formula, infant food
- baby bottles, sippy cups and pacifiers
- baby shoes
- crib sheets
- store discount coupons for infant food/supplies; SCRIP coupons
Please bring all unwrapped gifts to Mrs. Dyogi’s classroom by Friday, October 2nd to be donated this weekend at the church. Students will be given Virtue Card signatures for any donations to the gift shower (does not qualify for service hour requirement).

LONG BEACH LIFE CHAIN
Stand and be counted with thousands of pro-life Christians at the annual Long Beach Life Chain on Sunday, October 4, 2:30 – 4:30pm. It will be at the corner of Lakewood and Del Amo Boulevards (across from the Lakewood Mall).
It is a visual statement of solidarity by the Christian community that abortion kills children and that the Church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception.
