Instructions for “Images of the Church” PROJECT on the last slide of Powerpoint above – Due THURSDAY, SEPT. 17
Dear 6th graders and Parents,
Here is a link to Chapter Study Guides for the 6th grade Religion Text that you can use to prepare for the chapter quizzes.
Christ Our Life Chapter Study Guides (Gr. 6)
You will see that the page numbers do not exactly match up because these study guides reference the newest 2009 edition of the Christ Our Life series. They still include the key points for each chapter from the 2002 edition that we are currently using.
Please bookmark this link on your computer so you can review as we move along through the curriculum.
Thank you!
SOME REMINDERS:
Dear Parents,
Here are the Powerpoints that you may reference re:7th grade information from Back-to-School Night.
Please also note that we do have a few new items this year:
Feel free to email me at any time if you have questions at mdyogisjs@yahoo.com
Thank you for your support this year!

Dear 7th graders,
Here is a sample for the Jesus Christ: Fully Man, Fully God assignment that is due on FRIDAY 9/4.
Remember that you are to find two pictures of Jesus – one that reflects Low Christology and one that reflects High Christology. For each picture, you need to write a 5-sentence paragraph explaining how the picture shows His humanity (Low C.) / His divinity (High C.).
Hello, 7th graders!
Welcome back to school for another year of learning and growing as Christian leaders at SJS! It’s been a great first few days with all of you, and I’m very excited about all the lessons and blessings the coming months will bring.
Please remember to check this blog frequently for quiz/test dates, assignment/project due dates, announcements, and lesson powerpoints that will be helpful to you.
Make sure these items are in your Agenda Book of things to do…
Thank you!
Hello, 7th graders!
Some of you had questions about the plot chart/diagram for The Outsiders, so I am providing a worksheet that you can use to fill in the story components. Just click on the link below:
Plot Diagram WORKSHEET (hint: it’s better if you print it in LANDSCAPE format)
You can write directly onto the sheet or you can create your own, as long as you include information on each of the following:
You also have the option of making a plot outline, which you all learned how to do in Mr. Ortega’s class last year.
*NOTE: Don’t forget about your character notes as well! Remember, you’re giving descriptions of 4 main characters and 3 minor characters (physical traits and personality traits)
You will see here that I’ve included a Powerpoint slide show of the Elements of a Plot Diagram to guide you.
You do NOT have to do a plot chart and character notes for the other novels you are reading – only for The Outsiders. You just need to keep a record of the other novels you are reading on the SUMMER READING LOG and have your parents sign off for each book (minimum 3 total). If you need suggestions for books to read, please see the “Junior High Recommended Reading List” below.
You can find all the details for your Summer work if you click on the following links.

Please email me at mdyogisjs@yahoo.com if you have any other questions.
Happy Reading!
Blessings,
Mrs. Dyogi
